Woodinville Tourist District Roundabout (TRIP) Underway
If you live in or around Woodinville you are probably noticing the late night road work lights and really busy workers running around as the Troopers control traffic. At the intersection of Redmond/Woodinville Rd. or 202 and NE 145th the long awaited road improvements are a welcome indication that the “Tourist District” and much anticipated Wine Village is on it’s way to becoming a reality. Here is the news direct from the City!
Tourist District Roundabout Project: In April, the Woodinville City Council approved a $3.9 Million contract with Universal Land Construction to begin the Tourist District Roundabout Project. In preparation for the start of construction, utility companies, including Comcast, PSE, Verizon, and Woodinville Water, have started relocating utilities within the right of way. The project includes the construction of a main roundabout at the intersection of SR 202 and 145th Avenue NE , with two smaller roundabouts on the south and west sides of the main roundabout. The construction of the roundabouts will occur in several phases, to accommodate traffic and other events throughout the City. The City expects a completion date for this project to be in late spring of 2010. Lane closures will be restricted during morning and evening peak traffic hours to minimize the impact of construction on traffic; however, delays at this intersection are expected throughout construction. Construction updates, including lane closures, and construction schedules will be posted on electronic reader boards near the project as well as on the City’s website at www.ci.woodinville.wa.us. Additional updates will be posted to Woodinville Television and the City’s Travelers station 1610. For more information on this project, please contact Dan Beck, Project Engineer at 425.489.2700.
