About

A Woodinville resident for over 20+ years and an observer of all things terroir.  I have watched and reported on  the escapades of  a merry band and a  growing legence of 90+  boutique wineries & now distilleries that have dominated the streetscape and taken over this once sleepy little hamlet North of Seattle.   As the Washington wine industry has evolved  right in my very own backyard and after hosting an annual event at JM Cellars  I knew there was something more to appreciate than our obsession with Seattle’s coffee and all of the outdoor activities that make up our lives here in the great Northwest.     Washington wines!   Yep,  they’ve taken over Woodinville and now the juice is spreading to the rest of the world.   And with it the” terroir” ~ a French word derived from “terre”, terra, which means land or more appropriately a sense of place.  My hope is that through these postings a taste of the Washington terroir is conveyed a sense of place is found and of course the discovery of good wine the real  tre’ fusion of land, place and fruit.
